So even though you suspect you're pregnant you are going out binge drinking 5 times a week? Are you in a relationship with the father, and if so was this planned (i'm guessing it wasn't). If you're scared perhaps you should hold off on what you're doing until you know for sure whether or not you're pregnant. As for the effects on the baby, hopefully someone who knows about that will post.

hopefully scans and tests can confirm that there is no suspected damage done to the baby as long as you cut out alcohol and lead a reasonably healthy lifestyle for the rest of the pregnancy...congratulations and good luck by the way x

i didnt think i was pregnant, if i did there would have been no way that i would have gone out drinking everynight.
i'm not in a relationship anymore either and i know he wouldnt stand by me if i was.

Just in case, it's probably a good idea to stop drinking until you've seen the doctor and had a test with a conclusive answer

Yes ^^^ I'm worried I may be pregnant at the moment, but it is still too soon to do a test, but in the meantime I have stopped smoking and drinking until I know for sure. I had a miscarriage last year, and do not want to do anything to jeopardize any possibility that I may be pregnant again this time.

Lets not turn this into an abortion debate, please.

The warnings on gym equipment aren't for the baby's health so you can relax about that.

It's because when you are pregnant you have higher levels of hormones which soften the ligaments throughout the body (in preparation for your pelvis to expand at the crucial time!) so that high impact/stress exercise might give you back/joint pain/damage.

One of my closest friends didn't find out she was pregnant until she was 3 months gone ... she'd been binge drinking and smoking as usual throughout the first 3 months when she didn't know. (She obviously stopped immediately when she found out)

Her daughter is perfectly healthy and happy

Try not to worry, look after yourself and concentrate on what happens now, not what you've already done and can't change.

On another note, if you do go to the doctor then he/she will probably just give you a home pregnancy test and then refer you to a midwife - you won't get a scan until at least 12 weeks (in some areas 20 weeks) so don't expect too much.

i think i am pregnant and have made an appointment at the doctirs to confirm this.
If i am, i am nearly 6 weeks pregnant. I binge drink a lot, going out 5 nights a week every week and getting very very drunk every time. i also go to the gym and use machines that you are not supposed to use when pregnant.
what will happen to the baby if there is one?
i'm scared.

As others have said there is very little chance that you will have done any damage to your baby however after taking a pregancy test you will know wether you are or not. Once this is confirmed you will then get a pregnacy scan to show how far gone you are and also they can see if there's any damage done which is unlikely

Good luck with the pregnacy.

You're right that relaxin makes a pregnant body unable to stand up to the kind of exercise a non-pregnant body would but the warnings are there for the baby's health as well. Gentle cardio and moderate weight training are fine during pregnancy but anything strenuous, including exercise, should be avoided as high blood pressure (whether straightforward gestational hypertension brought on simply as a result of the pregnancy or temporary due to environmental factors) may damage the placenta and can have adverse affects on the baby's birth weight. It can also trigger early labour, and in the most severe cases can induce pre-eclampsia which can be fatal to both mother and baby.

Agreed stop drinking until you know for sure, if you are not pregnant, happy days but if you are, you may have to lay off the drink for a while longer.
