i applied for graphic and media design and got rejected whereas everyone else who applied in my class got a place... my teacher said this was because i've applied for much higher uni's and that they think if they give me a place I will turn them down anyway because my work is to good and they know i'll get into the other uni's... she said i am a lot better then the people who have gotten in that are in my class so that is the only explanation... is this true or is she just trying to make me feel better lol..
teacher said the reason i didn't get into uni was because i'm to good? lol Watch

Either wrong or trying to make you feel better, sorry!
Bit like the teachers myth that if you apply to oxbridge the other unis will reject you....

She knows what your work is like but the people assessing your applications might not know as much.
Did you have to send a portfolio?
Did you have to do a personal statement?
Universities look for potential as well as current abilities.
