Okay this could be a little long, sorry!!
I applied to a Boots job recently which was full time and part of the Trainee Pharmacy advisor scheme. I filled in the online application questionnaire and I was waiting to hear back.
Then a week later, a closer part time position with the same scheme came up so I applied for that too last Wednesday and I got an email saying they really liked my application and inviting me for a interview which was on Saturday.
The interview went really well I felt, I was really interested in the position with the included NVQ training and that definitely showed! At the end of the interview she said she had other people to interview so it would be unethical to tell me how I did but that I interviewed really well etc Still didn't hear back from the full time position.
It's Tuesday and I just had two automated emails for both applications saying unfortunately they weren't offering me a job this time and then right after I got 2 reports for my online assessment that I completed before my interview.
I'm confused because why would they offer me an interview and then say my questionnaire wasn't good enough? It just seems so backwards!
Shall I call the store and ask if it would be possible to have some feedback on my interview? And find out if it was in fact the interview or the online assessment that I needed to improve on?

Sounds really backwards I agree! I would definitely phone though I wonder if it is their standard email for saying no to a candidate, rather than an email specific to you but then you'd think they'd make it generic.
No harm can come of giving them a call. I'd go for it.
