As I'm receiving offers for universities I'm also getting invitations for applicant days and I want to go to them all and there will be at least 3 as I have received 3 out of 4 offers already.
I took two days off placement so that I could do some promotional work (briefing yesterday and work today) so that I could earn £40 for the train fair. This was only for one of the universities applicant day though and I will now have two more to go to which means I will need more money for trains. I have been offered the same work for next week but I am supposed to be in college. It would be for £40 again and as the other two universities are closer it would pay for both train tickets.
Can I ask college for the day off for this if I explain why I need the money or will they just say no either way..? I don't know what to do because I need to go to the applicant days so that I can visit the universities and the places and make some informed decisions but without doing this work then it is unlikely that I will get to go to the other two as my parents are having money problems right now so I can't ask them for it.

Just call in sick on the days you have to work if it's only every now and then; much easier.
