I have absolutely no idea what I want to do and I have to pick my A Level options soon.

So far I've put that if I stay at my school I'll do Sociology, Psychology, Film Studies and Photography and if i change to a nearby sixth form I'll do Business Studies/Creative Writing, Sociology, Photography and Drama.

However, I'm disgustingly lazy so picked most of these options based on how easy they will be compared to other subjects which I know is stupid.

Recently I've realized I want to do at least one academic subject so I get into Uni and aren't a complete failure. My school want me to do English Lit as I'm predicted an A but I don't find the subject easy or enjoyable so think I would struggle immensely if I took it, My mum is an English teacher and said she would help me but I still believe I would find it too hard. My school don't offer English Language which I prefer and the other school do English Lit & Lang and Creative Writing, I would love to do Creative Writing as thats the aspect of English I enjoy but it's not highly regarded at all and I really need a subject that is.

I've considered doing Biology as I'm not too bad at Science and got a B last year in Science Core and don't hate the subject as much as English or Maths for instance but a lot of my teachers say there's no point doing it unless I do it along with another science.

Maths is out the question as I'm predicted a C and never want to think about Maths again after Year 11.

I have absolutely no idea what I want to be when I'm older so am struggling with what to pick, suggestions to ANY A Level subjects with details about them and how difficult they are would help so much, thank you

My other GCSE options and predicted grades are Geography (D), Photography (B), Spanish (B) and Citizenship (A) if that helps.

Hi there! I actually do English literature myself, as well as biology, chemistry and maths One thing I would say about English literature is that you must be prepared to read, quite a bit, and not in class. I am currently doing AS and studying two books and a play. Also, it is recommended that you do a lot of critical reading around the novels. So if you want to choose it, make sure you enjoy reading otherwise it may be really tedious for you, and if you don't enjoy it, you are less likely to put the effort in and do well in it. As to your other options, I think taking biology is a good idea, even if it is the only science you do. They are highly regarded. But at the end of the day, choose ones you are either good at or will enjoy, I know so many people who regret one of their options.

Thank you! I enjoy reading but I find analysing and writing about inferences throughout the story etc very difficult which is why I think I would find it hard.

No problem! But if you still want to take it, im sure you will do great, and you can always find analysis online or buy study books to help analysing each of the novels.
