Mosh Pit Boots

I was wondering if anyone knows about the legality of these boots in the UK. I know they are frowned upon in America, but I have heard rumours they are illegal in the UK.

For those of you who don't know, they are basically steel toe capped boots, but the steel is on the outside of the boot riveted in place. Kinda like this, but not as high.

They do a LOT more damage to someone if you kick them, and thus can be considered a weapon I believe.

If anyone can help on the legality that'd be great. Thanks.

pic doesnt work :s-smilie: but if theyre as you describe then i think they should be legal. you can do more damage in football boots and eqaul amounts in toe caps (if not more) so i dont think they would be illegal but dont hold me to it

I've seen what you discribe (metal on the outside) before so i doubt they're illegal. I also doubt they'd cause any more damage than toe caps on the inside. I don't see why you'd want them...
I had a pair of New Rocks that had metal on the outside of the toes (well, it isn't metal, but it's shiny so most people assume it is!) and I've moshed without problems. I don't think it's illegal, but I do think that a club or venue reserve the right to eject you if you were using them as a weapon....

I ran a google search because I wasn't sure what you were talking about, I think your talking about boots like these right?

I've seen people wear stuff like that before, I doubt their illegal.
one of my friends has steel toe capped new rocks, and he wore them to stone sour

having said that, he regularly does illeagal things

This is what I was thinking.

They're for teenage "goths" (inverted commas indicate that a real goth wouldn't be seen dead in these either) who have more money than sense. Certainly, more money than fashion sense.

yes, I agree though, they look like emo shoes. New rocks always make me laugh, army boots look a hell of a lot cooler.

True that, New Rocks = mallgoth.
Why would you want shoes like that to wear in a mosh pit? Or indeed at all? They look really heavy and uncomfortable!

These are what I'm on about. That is half inch steel on the toe!!! New Rocks are pathetic little boots and I'd never be seen wearing something like that.

Link doesn't work. Lol sorry for posting those ****e shoes, I just google'd it because I have no clue on this sort of stuff

Is that what you mean? They're sold in the UK so I couldn't see them being illegal.

they're horrible, who'd want to wear them?

get the steel on the inside.
Yeah, they're what I mean. I'd not been able to find anywhere that sold them in the UK so wasn't sure. I'd not seen anyone wear them over here.

And I'd want to wear them as I'm looking to buy a motorbike and do some pretty hefty work on it, and when it's done, it'll be black and polished steel and I think those boots will look cool on a bike like that. Plus they'll protect my tootsies if my big bad bike falls on my foot!!

I already have British army surplus boots (heavily reinforced toe capped), Jolley army boots (steel toe and heel capped with steel shanks and steel mesh in the sole) and a few other pairs of boots with various degrees of reinforcement, but none with external caps like that. Need to add them to my collection

Oh, and Interlude, if you thought the others looked heavy and uncomfortable, try having a load of steel on the boot!! Much much heavier, but cool

Thanks Angel of Ages  And thanks to everyone else who helped on this

They're sold here, plus if you google the combination of goth, boots, steel and outside there should be a few more shops with them. Glad I could help!
