I went for a blood test and my AFP came back significantly high . I was then sent for a ulter sound which should up a black mass . My consultant has told me that they think it could be liver cancer , and that I must have a MRI scan , but didn't say how long I would have to wait . How long should it take ?

You've bumped a very old thread, but given your concerns I'll answer anyway. Your scenario is completely different from the OP's, if they suspect cancer then you'll get the scan within the next few weeks. Good luck!
