Is it better to immobilise whole organisms with the enzyme in or immobilise the pure enzyme, and why?

- I'm thinking whole organisms are cheaper and more readily available than immobilised enzymes, is that right?
- Also are whole organisms less likely to leak into the product?

Thanks!

Immobilizing Enzymes would be better in all ways.

The organism will produce other metabolites, which some are toxic. You also need to supply nutrients to the organisms, and have other measures to maintain their survival.
