Well halal is just a method which pertains to how the animal is slaughtered. (as far as I know).

So why would Christians have an issue with the way animals are slaughtered for halal?

It's fine as long as you don't actually believe that it is better to eat the halal meat or that it has any special properties. Treat as just regular meat, nothing special, and you're fine.

''What goes into someone's mouth does not defile them, but what comes out of their mouth, that is what defiles them." Matthew 15:11

For this reason most Christian groups do not have many dietary restrictions unlike Muslims, Jews, Jains, Sikhs, Buddhists and Hindus.

The quote from Matthew could so easily be a double entendre. Maybe this a subliminal message that the bible supports homosexuality.

The vast majority of Christians I know are happy to eat halal meat, and I do not believe the Church has taken a position against it. However, some Christians do, it seems, regard it as idolatory. As with most issues of religion it comes down to your personal interpretation of a millenia-old book and your own moral standing - do you regard Allah, the Muslim conception of God similar to the Christian one being from a fellow Abrahamic religion, as a different or misguided description of your God, or a different and false entity/idol altogether? And if the latter, do you believe that eating meat ritually sacrificed to Allah by others counts as idolatory itself, or that there is no issue so long as you do not perform the ritual yourself or believe it to be of any significance?

(Personally, I'm a Christian and I don't have an issue with halal meat).
