Yes its very nice to drive. (My parents smaller car). Has very forgiving gears, you can slip it into second and move off smoothly at about 3mph.

However if you haven't passed your test you will have to get one that was made after 2003, as they dont let you sit the test in any that were built before then due to an indicator and brake fault that can arise.

Thanks for the reply.
I won't be buying the car till after I past my test,
but can you tell me about that fault?
I've never heard of such a thing...I would be amazed if the DSA banned a model of car due to a dangerous fault that wasn't a recall anyway.

Apparantly its fine as long as it has been fixed from the recall, which most will have been I guess.
As I thought  No way would the DSA ban use of cars for a fault that wasn't a recall.

Square wtf is that **** about not being able to use one in a test?

If it was so bad, there would have been a recall

I agree, I don't think to DSA would ban cars because of that, especially if not a recall.

I was going to get a Peugot 206 as my second car because my first one was just for practice before I passed.
If you can afford one and afford (what will most likely be) the hefty insurance cost then go for it!

not bad cars (stuff has a habit of falling off, but thats the joy of a French car) very forgiving, and if you like the way they look then go for it. expect to pay best part of £2k in insurance on a 1.4 2003 model FYI

Thats what I was told when I tried to sit my test in our 206.
Something that I found when I was looking at a 206 after I had passed my test was that I didn't like the driving position offered.

There was something about it that prevented me from finding a decent position, even after around 10 mins of adjusting.:frown:

Didn't go for it in the end. However this may be to do with the fact that I am a bit tall.

Already paid for £1500 for myself as a second driver with Dad as first.
The condition of the car is excellent, I know nothing about cars but Dad gave it a good look over and after a good clean .. amazing little buy, really liking it. =D
