Hi, I am thinking of converting through GDL.
I am in my late 30s and have gathered a lot of work experience in sales management roles for big IT companies like Google and SAP.
I am thinking about converting using a GDL with the goal of becoming a full-time solicitor, unfortunately the UK system is pretty obscure to me (I am Italian and graduated with an MSc in Political Science in Italy) so I am confused about timing for TC applications.
If I enrol for the GDL in Sept 2016, when I am supposed to apply for a TC?
Let's say I am about to complete the GDL, should I try to get a TC while I cover the LPC?
I am just not sure what is the best way to go.... any idea?

You can start applying for training contracts once you commence your GDL as many law firms are looking for trainees two years in advance. If you decide to study at The University of Law, you'll have access to our Careers team who can assist you with your applications as soon as you accept your place. You may also want to look at doing a summer/winter vacation scheme at a law firm too, so it's worth preparing your applications as soon as you start your GDL.
If you need any more help, give our Admissions team a ring on 0800 289997 and they'll be happy to help answer your questions.
