I studied nursing and used two years of my finance so when I begin to study architecture I will fund my first year.

However, in regards to the maintenance loan I just want to know if I will still be classed as dependent on household income or independent? I'm classed as a mature student and I've been working whilst I was at university but not much. I left nursing in Feb 2015 and entered straight into employment and in previous years I've been funded by SFE as a dependent.

Thanks

You either need to be over the age of 25 or have supported yourself for 3 years (or satisfy some other criteria that are not important here). From the information you've given I do not believe you will be classed as an independent but I would certainly give them a call to make sure.

Hi jessicalw23

If you are under 25 we will require evidence to show you have been supporting yourself for 3 years to be deemed as independent.

Thanks
