Hi guys I have just accepted a job position in recruitment as a trainee resourcer in Manchester. I am very scared as I have no IT skills, well...some but I only learnt in school and I know technology has changed immensely since then. Can I learn things like Excel and Outlook quickly or will it be part of my training? Has anyone worked in recruitment before and can offer advice?

Normally IT skills required for jobs can be quickly learned as they will not be too intensive - what level of IT will you be using on a day-to-day basis?
Programmes such as Excel and Outlook are fairly easy to pick up basic skills, however learning the intricacies of each programme can be a little bit complicated.
Presuming this, if you need advice most businesses do offer training, and there is also excellent online office training for these roles. Furthermore, online training can easily be obtained for free on both the microsoft.com website and other sources that offer guides on using the software.
