I'm used to structuring an essay like this:
A01/Explanation
Study that supports it
Study that challenges it
Another explanation
Study that supports that
Study that challenges it
IDA
Conclusion
But, for one of the A01s, can I include two supporting studies instead of one of each for support and challenge? Or two challenging studies? So like this:
A01
Study that supports it
Another study that supports it
or
A01
Study that challenges it
Another study that challenges it
Thanks!

Hi, as far I as I write my essays I tend to do whatever studies I seem to remember, whether that is two supporting or two challenging. Although I try to write one support, one challenging instead of two challenging. There is no harm in doing two challenging, you just need to make it explicit what your study shows.
Eg.
AO1 Explanation
Supporting study - A research study that supports this is by X et al. etc.
Challenging study - A study that challenges the findings found by X is Y etc.
or
AO1 Explanation
Challenging study - A research study that challenges this explanation is by Y etc.
Challenging study - A research study that also challenges the explanation and supports Y is Z etc.
TL;DR - Yes.
