Hello 2016 Applicants!
Here is your FAQ guide to everything accommodation. Hopefully you will be able to find the answers to most of your questions here. If not our Accommodation pages on our website will have everything you need.

Firm Offer Holders
If you have put Greenwich as your firm choice and you apply before 30th June 2016 you will be guaranteed accommodation. Although we cannot you your first choice, we will do our best to make sure everyone is happy with the accommodation they are allocated.

1st Years only?
We do guarantee accommodation to all firm offer holders coming in their first year, however, this doesn't mean you can't stay in halls for your entire time with us.
We have plenty of space for continuing students. You can choose to apply for accommodation with your friends as well. This gives you chance to stay in the safety and convenience of halls however you still get to live with all your friends.

Parking
We have no parking for students at our Greenwich campus and there is very limited parking in and around Greenwich itself. Being so close to the centre of London and a national heritage site .... doesn't leave much room for parking.

There is parking on both the Avery Hill and Medway campus for students. This can be bought on a day to day basic or we charge roughly £150 for a year.

Nursing and Midwifery
We do try to put all of our Nursing and Midwifery students together in the same flats. Due to placements we understand that your study hours may be different to those on other programmes.

Deposit
The deposit for each of our halls is £400. The deposit will be returned to you once you have moved out of accommodation. If you decide to stay for your second year the deposit will be kept until you move out of halls.

Insurance
Content Insurance is included, however, we always recommend that you look into your own insurance as well to cover things like your laptop or phone.

Feel free to ask any questions you have about accommodation here and I will try to answer them the best I can.
If any new information comes up, I will post it here as well.

Hi,
I'm doing Nursing in 2016 and just wondered if it's certain i'll be put with other nursing students as i prefer the idea of socialising with a range of students from lots of different courses. What's your opinion on this and how does it specifically work for nursing students? thank you!

Hi!

We try our hardest to allocate our students studying Nursing and Midwifery to share the same flat, as we know you will be attending placements and will need to have your rest!

But, to know that you don't mind and wish to stay with students in different programmes, is great to hear! It's a great way to meet new people and learn about each others programmes. We also have many clubs, societies and events that you can join too. Click here to see what's on now.

Nursing is quite a full time programme as it is 50% theory and 50% practical. But in the free time you have, you can see 'what's on' at the link just above and come along anytime to the event's listed at the time.

I hope this helps! If you need anything else, let us know!

Hello Mariettamar,

Do not worry, most students coming into university straight out of sixth form or college will hold conditional offers.
At Greenwich we guarantee all new students accommodation as long as they meet the following requirements:

* You are attending the Univeristy of Greenwich for the first time (Either as an Undergraduate or Postgraduate)
*Your accommodation application has been received before 30 June 2016 (although we are usually able to offer rooms to students who apply after this date)
*You are enrolling on a full-time programme of study, for which you have qualified and have accepted your offer of study by 19 August 2016
*You start your studies in September, and you are studying for the whole academic year
*You are studying on one of the three main University of Greenwich campuses (Avery Hill, Greenwich or Medway)

You can see the full requirement on our website here - http://www2.gre.ac.uk/study/accommodation/guarantee

Have you thought about which accommodation you want to apply for?

Hello I'm an international student from Italy. I was offered a conditional offer for your Drama BA course and I've accepted it as my firm, but I haven't applied for accommodations in time, since I'm still undergoing the exams required by my offer, which are to be due in mid-July. Is there any chance that I could still apply for an accommodation?
Also, regarding my course, I wasn't interviewed so I didn't have the chance to ask: how much of my chosen course will take place at the Bathway Theatre in Woolwich? I wasn't able to find much informations about it on your website and I think knowing it would influence my hall's choice, since I'd like to find the nearest one to the site. If you happen to know about it, it would be incredibily helpful!
Thank you in advance for helping me

Hello,According to the university I'm a continuing student (it's gonna be my 2nd 1st year, if that makes sense)

I applied to a room in Avery Hill and accepted the offer but I would like to change and apply to the Greenwich campus instead.

The university told me that there weren't any room available anymore on the Greenwich Campus (which giving my past experience with this uni I highly doubt is true)

I'd like to try and apply but to do so I think I need to cancel my application and therefore take the risk to not have any accommodation this year.

They told me to check in October if there were any available room in Greenwich and that there's a possibility of swiping rooms in January

However they had told me the exact same thing last year and turns out I didn't get to change my accommodation at all even though I know for a fact that other student did.

I really want a room in Greenwich this year. Please Help!!!

Kind Regards.

Hello Anish!

Our Daniel Defoe flats have one kitchen to every three or more rooms.
