No, it's not true. Not everyone finds their partner at university/college and not everyone goes to university/college either.

Wow, finding a spouse should be later on...

    Imo career first.

    Nah, not true.

You could find them at any juncture, and it needn't be at university or college!

    depends on your life post-uni.

Think of it like a bucket of water, if I take 3 cups out of that bucket and use them to water some plants then it is a plan for tomorrow really isn't it.

The reality is that University probably is one of the best opportunities to meet someone you are compatible with.

Dating, socialising and making friends seems to get harder for most people after uni.

Most people will never have such a wide social circle ever again.

Definitely worth putting yourself out there and making the most of it.

I'm sure people who find their life partner in education are the minority. Especially for people in high pressure universities with a high workload and/or a lot of extra-curriculars on offer, it becomes hard to devote time to people you don't know (for dating and all that stuff).
Best thing to do is probably be the best person you can be, live a "full" life (do what you enjoy, enjoy what you do etc.) and it'll just happen?
That being said, most of us are still waiting...

I'm sure there will be many more places for the police to look if you wife or husband suddenly went missing.

Obviously not or else there'd be no point in ever asking any married couple ever where they met because the answer would always be "at college/university". You can meet your futute husband or wife at any point in life.
