    Hi,

I am a sixth form student hoping to study medicine and would like to do a summer placement in Poland or Romania. Does anyone have any experience with this?

These are the two programs I am looking at but I don't know if they are good organisations?

Hey there. I personally have never been to any medicine work experience overseas, so I can't really give you any first-hand experiences or reviews of the two companies above. Gap Medics however has been around for quite awhile now and is relatively well known for their overseas work experience programme. I have a friend who has been to Tanzania with Gap Medics and she definitely enjoyed her time there. She said that the programme was very observational, so you're basically going to be shadowing doctors and nurses most, if not all, of the time. You can do the same in thing in the UK for free if you managed to get work experience at a hospital. The highlight of the trip was that you will be able to witness the disparity of the standard of healthcare facilities when compared to the UK. You'll also be able to meet new people and experience some of the country's culture during activities organised by the company.
