Im so glad someone started this thread! No disrespect to anyone but I cant physically bring myself to attend 'cheesy chart nights' nor will I go out in fancy dress or play stupid drunken games....Im not going to fit in at Uni am I? haha...
Anway this has been quite the dilemma for me too, moving to a big city with no bassline house or speed garage by the sounds of it, so I keep checking

Yes I am the same, cant stand fancy dress, hate cheesy club nights (unless im really drunk) and cant be arsed with the pub crawls most of the time to be honest. im into dirty house music and techno and everything that manchester used to be about in the 90's.

I have found a few websites that have made me feel a bit better. I dont think im gonna fit in well either lookin on this site.lol!!

watch out for THE WAREHOUSE PROJECT in october, it'll be coming back and I work there (worked there last year and going to this year).

It's more of the nights you need to watch out for Club North in the northern quarter has some good ones and so does Attic on oxford road. Also the music box has a load of DnB nights on.
Metropolis host loads of acts there like grooverider and TC.

Watch out for Ape too and chibuku. chibuku's fan fuc kin tastic. although chibuku's more liverpool based.

i myself love dnb, deep elctro, techno and acid house.

I'm starting MMU in septmeber and I my self am also a dirty ravAAHH.

went to dave clarke @ chibuku i liverpool on sat and it was awesome, one of the best nights ever.

ask me if ur not from road here, i always know whats going on in the lavely city of mancunia.

Don't worry guys, I know from the look of it there doesn't seem to be much but i find the proper music nights are simply less well advertised but they are are all over the place. you just have to dig to find them.
