Will be doing both Maths and Further Maths next year, and I'm curious to see which unit everybody found the hardest?

AQA FP2. Last year's exam was absolutely insane - not even comparable to previous years.

For AS, i'd probably say m1 was the hardest for me. D1 is one to stay away from purely because it's so tedious and can get very boring even though its not mathematically challenging.

From what I've heard, FP2 and M2. My M2 was over 20 marks lower than my other non-Mechanics modules, and I've heard from people who've done up to M4 (or maybe M5?) that M2 was the hardest they've done. It's definitely scared me enough to do every maths module except M3-5! M3 is apparently just SHM/circular motion though, so you'll cover it all if you do Physics anyway - less revision!
FP2 is also supposed to be very tricky. We've not covered much of it yet though, so I'm not sure how it compares to FP3.

Really? I am not taking it but it seems the easiest Mechanics module of the lot.

The questions all seem to be easy differential equations. Same procedure pretty much for everything.

Yea but there's also taking in to account learning the material. I'd say M1/M2 are on a level far lower than M3-M5

Okay point taken. I think the mechanics modules as a whole are the easiest thing in the Maths/Further Maths syllabus though. Far more gift giving of marks for doing next to nothing in a question. They also tend not to push the limits of the syllabus in the questions either. The projectiles and rope/pulley questions for instance are all very easy questions of such topics.

Though I agree there are a lot of marks to pick up for little working - but my point would be that you need to be doing the right thing for those marks

Another point taken. I never even contemplated that rubbish. Just an utter waste of my time.
