At a hippie retreat in Australia.

They were in a sweat lodge and then jumped into a freezing pond to 'awake the aura' or some *******s and my dad started drowning so my mum jumped in and saved him. So manly. So awkward.

I've asked my mum this, but she's always been pretty vague.

My dad was a DJ and I think they had some mutual friends - from what I can gage, them meeting had something to do with those two factors.

Oh, and he had his ear pierced, which my mum found really attractive at the time.

    That's all I know.

Edit: Interestingly, though, my mum and dad were born within days of each other in the same hospital and my paternal grandmother could remember hearing my maternal grandmother giving birth. I was evidently the product of fate.

The year was 1988 IIRC. They apparently met at at a party somewhere in Oxford (and they were both final year students at that time).

Been 28 years since then!

They split when I was about eighteen months old, but that doesn't stop me from being a child made in heaven.

Imagine if you went and met your future spouse there.

It's so cute you want to go there, anyway. You'd be studying in the same place your parents fell in love!
