AHAHAHAHAHAAHA. i went there with my gay friend and he nearly vomited as he claimed that it was just too gay, even for him.

fabric is goot

bar rumba (on thursdays)
mos (when they're not playing crap music which is maybe 60% of the time)
heaven - it's surprisingly nice on a non "gay" night. i'm not a homophobe but i guess sexual preference dictates the music genre. been to a psytrance/breaks thing there which was bloody awesome and they do quite a few good dnb gigs that go perfectly with the lovely sound system.

fabric - went to breakspoll there this year (international breakbeat awards), was insane!!!

care to explain?
Fabric has an AWESOME sound system and the best acts (DnB haven) but like most decent London Nightclubs is becoming quite touristy.
Herball, Egg (in Kings X) and OnAnon (awesome views over picadilly neon lights!) are all excellent.
A lot of people like Cafe de Paris which is £15ish to get in and very glitzy. Haunt of celebs and models. But I just dont like in. Too cheesy. And a bit...well, ****.

My favourite is AKA/The End. For big nights they join the two together and those nights are unmissable. Awesome club which is packed out full of very cool people and HOT women. And me. Which is all the hot man you'll need.

I like Wax Bar as well. Kinda clubby feel.

hm.. do students actually go to all of those posh clubs in West End?
I go to The End/Aka cos it is the most fun night in the world.
But mostly just student nights and getting in on guestlists.
maybe not so much on Fridays/Sats though when all and sundry are in town.

Also check out the Gardening Club. (Student night on Tuesdays!)

How much do you have to pay to get into Ministry of Sound and Fabric?
£10/£15.

MoS do a student night (I think on Wednesdays) when it might be a bit cheaper. But drinks are WAY expensive for both. So if you are just looking to get drunk and dance go to somewhere cheap (Wax Bar is free for more commercial...The Roxy is small and sweaty and more Indie).
Only go to MoS or Fabric if you LOVE the music being played. Or are a scenester who just wants to be seen.

Aren't they a bit expensive for students? (Would love to check them out though)
what about Cafe de Paris, even that is £15 you said? All (GOOD) clubs are that expensive?

ps no I'm not looking to get drunk, want good music!!

Then it's totally worth it once in a while.

I know quite a few people on the scene so get guestlisted etc.
It's not that hard to do though. I think there are even groups on facebook (type in London Student Nights or London Clubbers) and there are some cool things going down.

What sort of music are you into?
If you are into chart music and dance music with a more commercial aspect you can get into some very cool places (even on a Friday and Saturday) for free - Wax Bar off Oxford St and OnAnon in Picadilly (before 10).

If you are into anything else then paying between £10 and £15 will get you in to the best music the WORLD has to offer. Fabric, MoS, AKA/TheEnd regularly have the BEST DnB nights in the world. The first two have nights every month where you are seeing THE TOP (for those in the know Andy C, Hype, Friction, Dillinja, Mampi...) all playing on the same night. It is like seeing a festival in one night with the world's greatest acts all playing...for £10/15!!
AKA/TheEnd also does amazing house nights.

So if you want the best dance music in the world, London is the place. Be prepared to spend £25/30 to go out a couple of times a month to see the BEST dance acts out there.
There are students who do (I do).

A lot of students are just content to get pissed and dance to commercial. In which case you can be ratted by the end of the night from Mon-Thurs for £10/£15 (including entrance and booze).

where do you have to pay £25/30??

you don't have to know someone to get guestlisted right, that's only for membership and all?

are cc club and Isis any good? any other suggestions?
was searching the net but I really can't figure out much from the reviews, etc.!
