Strange nightime experience...

I had a dream that I was getting beaten up, there was some guy who had be pinned face down on a bed and he was kneeling on my spine. In the dream it actualy HURT however, just like something hurts in the waking day. The type of pain was really unusual though... almost like a really strong "tickling" sensation along my spine, the sort that makes you jerk about.

The worrying thing is the pain carried on a few seconds after I woke up. Now I come to think of it ive had simillar sensations just before I woke up. Always the the same sensation. I cant think of anytime ive felt in in real life though (apart from the few seconds after I woke up!), the best I can describe it is having your spinal cord simulatenously "tickled" and crushed.

Before you ask ive heard of sleap paralysis. However that usualy involves the pressure being put on the chest, and the "vision" usually occurs in the room the sufferer is sleaping in (As I said I was on a bed during this dream, from the two other times I can remember once I was on a bed, and once I was on a road. Then again however they were never the bed I was sleaping in if you get me) . Also the crushing is accompanied by a restriction of breathing, which again isnt the case.

Anyone heard of simillar expreinces?

Maybe you jerked or tensed your back whilst dreaming? Hence the feeling when you woke up

Maybe you roll onto your stomach in your sleep which results in you being face down in the dream, and could also mean that your spine is being bent backwards by your head being propped up on your pillows, which could make your spine tingle and feel like it's being crushed.

Generally speaking though, crushing and tingling in your spine is something you should get checked out.

Often if you have a pain that will be in your dream aswell (don't quote me on that though =P )
I broke two of my toes last summer, and had several dreams in which my foot, that i had the broken digits on, got hurt

I had a dream last night that this weird man was stalking me and whenever he got too close he spat at me. It was really scary but the weird thing was I (thought I) could feel the spit when it hit me :s-smilie:. My point is, the brain is a very powerful tool, so perhaps it made your spine come out in sympathy due to the vividness of your dream???

ive noticed quite regularly anything that your body feels you seem to dream about. like when somebody touches you when your asleep, you dream about something similar happening with that exact feeling.

anyways im saying that you may have a spinal problem which is being manifested in your dream. go get it checked out,
