I believe you won't get it until results come out, as then you are going to be a student... even though you are unconditional - if that makes any sense!!

It'll be A7##### (# obviously being random numbers to identify you), if you can see that on anything, but i don't think you would of had it yet

Yeah you wouldn't have it that early. I imagine they're referring to either your UCAS number or the number the finance people give you?

Yeah, I was surprised myself. When she asked for the number I started to give my Personal ID number (UCAS number or whatever) and she said no; it should start with some alphabet. She told me to go look at the forms again and find it....but I can't find it anywhere. Anyways thanks for clarifying that for me.

The real reason I needed it was so that I can pay the fees and apply for the UK student Visa next month (they need evidence that I've payed my fees) and get it done and over with before going on vacations..plus it takes time so earlier the better. I needed the number so my payment can be identified to my student account. I'll have to call them and ask them how else can I link the payment to my account..hm.
It says on the site in the finance section for each payment method:
Please quote your student ID and name when making your payment.

Hmm you might have problems doing that if you haven't got your ID number, every time you ask them anything in there they need your ID number to look up on their computer

It sounds like the person you spoke to didn't realise you weren't a student here yet.

That's a good point. She was the third person I was connected to and I can't remember repeating my introduction to her.
Although I just remembered I did tell her I needed to pay early since it was a Visa requirement for me to present a receipt proving a payment. She should have figured I'm not in the UK in that case, but I admit it wasn't clear enough that I'm not a student. I'll call again tomorrow now that I've clarified I'm not supposed to have a student number yet so I can ask them what to do.
