Be very grateful for a quick reply since my entry has already be submitted and I need assurance.
I am a home schooled external candidate and a school has just entered me for my exams. However I have just found out I am taking the Edexcel Certificate instead of the IGCSE because sending it is more secure then an IGCSE. I have been assured the exams are identical to each other but surely it cannot be seen as good as IGCSE because it is much less known? Do all schools accept this or will they favour IGCSE's?
I cant find anything about this anywhere.

I have no idea what "sending it is more secure then an IGCSE" means but in the UK the Edexcel Certificates use the exact same exam paper as the igcse candidates in other countries in the same regional time zone (a different R paper for the same syllabus is taken in the Far East and elsewhere). It is the same qualification with a different name. Although it is less well known in the wider public, it will be perfectly acceptable to colleges and universities as equivalent to GCSE.
