I will be starting my course in September. When should I apply for student finance?

It gets a bit confusing I think. On the gov.co.uk it has 2 links. The first one is https://www.prospects.ac.uk that has as requirements to ''have lived in England for at least three years''. On the gov page there is also another link for this website that it just says ''normally live in England''. My question is, people like me that live in England less that 3 years, are we eligible to apply?

What do I have to do being a EU (non-UK) citizen? When, how, where do I need to apply? Thank you

Hello.

I would like to know if I can apply for a postgraduate loan after I took a break from my masters degree? My course started in September 2015 and its going well but I had some misfortune.I had two burglaries and lost my savings and belongings. I got all the help I could but I need a break to get a job and just get by but I still want to continue with my studies after I get better.

Will it affect my loan application if I am a full time continuing student with a year break.

Thank you.

Do nursing students apply for student loans in the same way as everyone else. Due to the nhs bursary, nursing students won't need a loan for tuition fees but still do for living costs.

I'm wondering exactly what is meant by Household Income and how it's measured. I live with my parents, but am independent and take no money from them in fact pay rent with my girlfriend who also lives with us. I need to know if it's judged on my specific circumstance or just taken on a generic metric like parents income or something.

You should apply as soon as the application service opens! You don’t need a confirmed place at university. Just create your student finance account and apply usingyour preferred choice of course. You can simply change the details once you’ve accepted an offer.

Hi nagiasma,

There are many factors taken into account regarding residency and eligibility. You should still submit an application for us to review. Your eligibility will be determined once we have looked at your individual circumstances.

Hi Lucy,

Yes, you will still need to submit your application for student finance once the cycle opens. With regards to your parents income, there are additional 'current year income' forms that they can complete so we can look at their circumstances. All of the information you will need can be found on our student finance website www.gov.uk/studentfinance
