havent done blake for a couple of months but ill have a go anyway.

the tiger is asking how God could create evil in the word, ie: the violence of tigers in comparison to The Lamb. the tiger could also represent the revolutionaries in France (they were nicknamed the tigres) so blake could be protesting against the violence of the revolutionaries. also, the industrial language (anvil, hammer, etc) means the tiger could represent industrialisation. it's basically about the mystery of God.

The Sick Rose is about suppressing sexuality and how sex itself isn't bad but the sense of shame people feel about their sexual desires is.

The Ecchoing Green is about the perfect community (ie: old smiling benignly at the young) and the synchronisation of the natural world with the human world.

iv got loads of annotations on these 3 poems and the other blake poems as well so if you need some more help, just ask!

Hey can someone tell me a one line sentance on what these poems are about:

'The Tyger'
'The sick rose'
'The ecchoing green'

for example: a cradle song - This poem shows the relationship between a wise + loving mother and her innocent child as she sings him to sleep.

something like that...THANKS!!!

The Tyger - french revolution, socialist movement, the creator being god or human happy about what he did or not, due to gods fearing "throwing down there spears".

The sick rose - corruption!

The echoing green - life stages, loss of innocence due to experience, remeniscents "old oak" "old john"

hope that helped a bit!
