Are there any single mums in, I need your advice?

I basically want to know your experience of being a mother without the father, more specifically I would ask with one child, could you cope, what was it like?
I can't tell it all here, but basically I think I am close to being a Dad and I cannot be with the kid. I am wondering how it could be and if it could even be happier, maybe two parents on one child is too much, they say only children find it intense. How do you, or did you manage with one child? The mother and I are amicable but we will not be together. I'm also concerned about her having another partner obviously, although I know many single mums are happy alone. I just trust her alone but not a guy being with my kid.

Can you please help as this is important to me.
