Do the grade boundaries for the English coursework change? Last year we were told an A* was 72/80 but this year my teacher told us it was 77? I am aiming for an A, which used to be 65. I received 63/80 on my folder and apparently with the new grade boundaries that is a weak B but it would have been a strong B with the old boundaries. Does anyone know if my teacher is wrong? Because the boundaries usually don't change that much and my fellow classmates are extremely confused.

On the contrary,, boundaries change year to year. It's been this unstable for the past 3 years now unfortunately.

Controlled Assessments don't usually change that much, but your teacher is quite wrong in telling you what number and grade that means. Most schools should follow the practise of actually not telling students because there is always a fluctuation in boundaries.

So your best bet is to ignore your CA marks and focus on your exam skills and technique instead.
