    Hi,
I've applied to study film studies and one of the portfolio requirements is to write:
An essay (750-1000 words), of which you are the sole author, on any topic in the arts and humanities, or a work of film criticism.
So, does the work of film criticism has to be 750-1000 words as well or not necessarily?

If those are the exact words given to you, then yes I would suggest that is the limit. They don't want to read swathes of rubbish, tbh!

However, the only people who really know are those who set the task. Ask them if unsure.
