So, when I use my internet sometimes it says "your connection is not private" and I do not know what it means.

My sisters laptop seems to be working well, its just my laptop.

I think we are on contract, we paid to have interne for like a week. My broadband is BT.

I am clueless on this matter and need advice, what do I do?

    They're joking.

It most likely means the connection you're using is visible to other people IF they know what they're doing AND if they actually want to. An encrypted connection is considered "private" as (in almost all cases) only you and the website you're connected to can see the data that is going between you. And by data I mean things like bank details that someone might otherwise want to steal.

Whether or not your connection is private is more down to the website you're using than your computer or browser. So for example, my connection to TSR right now is not considered private as there is no real need for it to be. When I use online banking, however, that is a secure/private connection.

Proper IT people might want to post a better explanation but I think this is the jist of it.

Basically - don't worry about it

What web browser are you using?

Have you tried accessing the same website with different web browser?

The fact that the issue only affects your device means there is no problem with the website itself.

Here are few things you might want to do:

    - ensure the date and time of your device is correct
    - reinstall chrome/clean temporary files
    - check with your anti virus to see whether it actually affects Internet connection.
    - it might be wise to perform anti virus scan.
