Getting over 7 hours of battery life in realistic usage conditions will be difficult for £400. That aside, I would go for this Lenovo. It ticks your boxes for 1TB of storage and a great processor, it's got plenty of RAM, and from a reliable manufacturer. I bought my brother the i3 version for christmas and we've been very pleased with the performance.

What would you recommend if I went over the £400 mark?

How much more were you thinking, and what would you want out the laptop for the extra money?

I was thinking up to £600 and with that extra money I'm after better battery life and a laptop similar to a MacBook.
