A bit too late creating this thread now, 'cause tonight it's the series finale
The highlight of my Sunday evening gone for a while

Anyway, I randomly decided to watch the first episode on the first day (I had heard of the book) and I've been hooked ever since

If anyone else is in the same position, and also really excited for tonight, post below!

If you've seen it around but haven't really watched it, I recommend that you do, such a fantastic plot and set of actors :yep: (and costume - I'm in love with the costume)

Also if you liked the BBC version then you'll probably love this version too:

It stars Clemence Poesy (remember her from Harry Potter?!) as Natasha, and it is really well done...

Really no one can do the book justice but the BBC did an excellent job of this remake especially with younger viewers taking an interest
well at least I know what happens in the end...
Don't click the spoiler if you don't want to know
    Spoiler:
    Show
    Natasha and Pierre marry
    Petya will die in battle
    Nikolai will marry Maria
Helene will have an affair with a french officer, get the plague and die

One of the best series I've ever seen on the BBC, Pierre Buzukov's wife is a *****, but so damn hot

Prince Andrei's quite an interesting character and Natasha's multi-layered too.

If you want to see Tuppence Middleton in a more friendlier character, watch Dickensian :yep: (plot's a bit too wavey in that with the merging of Dickens' books but she's a good reason to watch it :teehee: )

Definitely, a saddened Prince, what else could a girl ask for?

Natasha's character and plot brings out the sexism of those times (some which is still apparent today tbf) But she's lovely and Lily James plays her well

It's definitely something that I've really enjoyed over the past few weeks, and I'm hoping for a good finale tonight!

The book itself is just extraordinary; no film or TV series could ever do it justice, and I'd definitely recommend it to those of you who haven't read it yet. It's VERY long but I guarantee that you'll be blown away! :yep:

While I'm here, I may as well draw your attention to Anna Karenina which, as far as I'm concerned, is Tolstoy's best work!
