i done Edexcel AS psychology last year and i was the same. i got a C (one more raw mark from a B). i performed poorly all year.
i would say look at markschemes but youre new spec lol, but i think most of the content still stands. it really helps to understand what the examiners are looking for.

practice questions and learn how to answer them according to how kany mark theyre worth

ask yourself what your weak spots are? is it your retention of the content or answering questions?
    buy the textbook as well.

then find out the important points, write them out, make flash cards, whatever will help you memorise them.

    yeah I'm doing it rn
um idk lol I barely revised for my mock and I got a D...

by trying hard what do you mean? do you actually know your content? cause that's all there is to it... if your mock will be the same as mine and sent from the examboard as a specimen paper you might wanna revise lab experiments cause there's a 12 marker on it lol

when we do tests/mocks questions in class I get A/B's cause we've recently learnt content and I know it, it's not that hard just know your stuff and over- simplify / over-explain in your essays that's how to get marks
