Are you talking about GCSE level or A level History? I can guide you on how to structure answers to exam questions at GCSE level. Would you give an example of a question because for different exam questions you have to use different structures.

Look at examiner reports, especially for Edexcel. They've got actual examples of essays and what the candidate did write or wrong. Look at their past paper section and you'll find reports

I got an A* at GCSE History. It is mainly about structuring your answer in the most relevant way possible. My answers weren't hugely long but they were to the point. I ended up with 95% UMS
