Sticky filling?

Hi all,
I got a filling about 6 months ago, near the back of my mouth. I've only had one filling before that, and got it when I was really young.
Ever since she first put the filling in, it felt a bit sticky if I bit down on it, and I assumed it was normal but just didn't notice it when I was young.
6 months later, and it is still sticky when I close my mouth. By sticky, I mean, if I close my mouth, I can feel the filling cling onto the tooth on the opposite side that touches it.

Is this normal? My other one isnt like that! It makes it feel like there is food stuck in my tooth :frown:.
The filling is also very rough to feel with my tounge. I can easily tell which tooth has it. With my old filling, however, its impossible to tell where it is.

The surface might just be too rough and be catching on your other tooth making it feel "sticky". Only a dental examination will tell you for sure though...

It depends where the filling is. With certain teeth, you just notice it more and it does take a long time for you to get used to it. Also, white fillings are much more sensitive than traditional silver ones. If you have a filling towards the front where it's visible, you're more likely to have a white filling, and it's more likely to feel obvious for a good while.

I had the same problem not so long ago. I just ground it down with the tooth that was catching on it. However, you could just go back to the dentist and ask for the to smooth it over for you.
