Remember they are a doctor they've seen it all before. Many people get embarrased showing off their parts but I think 5 minutes of embarrassment ould sure beat itching and pain!

doctors are professional so it wouldn't matter to them.

But no, they'll try and grope you.
If you want it to go away, go see a doctor.

Hey
so basically iv got a rash in not such a nice place. its rly itchy and red and the skins all dried as well. i know i need to see a doctor cos its hell- even walking its painful or extrememly itchy.
thing is i just dont have the guts to go cos i know it'l involve an intimate examination. silly i know but there you go.

What you have to consider, is the fact that this is very unlikely to resolve itself without medical intervention. If you remain too scared to see a doctor, you're going to continue to be in pain, and no one should be, if it can be medically treated.

We're into exam time now - are you sitting any this year? If so, you really need to get this checked out now, or sitting through a couple of hours of testing is going to be a nightmare.

But even if you're not... It's quite simple really. The rash hurts. You want it to go away. Magic drugs will make the rash go away. The only person who can give you the magic drugs is your GP. I'm not trying to patronise you; I hate seeing doctors too. But sometimes you just have to bite the bullet and go see them anyway!

Just remember that in a professional setting, your GP will not see your body as a sexual object. Doctors have been through years of training and experience, and they're all rather desensitised when it comes to seeing human flesh. And if they're not embarrassed when looking at your body, why should you be?

Good luck getting the courage together. I hope you get yourself treated soon.

Just leave it. Most things go away if you ignore them.

What...like AIDS?
I'd get it checked out if I were you, though I have been embarrassed to talk about much smaller problems. I don't know if this is possible but can you request to go to a same sex doctor if you are uncomfortable about revealing to an opposite sex doctor. I don't know but if I were to go about something related to periods, for example, I would prefer to see a woman doctor.

You pretty much know what everyone's going to say to this, even if you did just make the thread for a bit of moral support. Which is fine, of course, but you really ought to bite the bullet and go to the doctors.
just go see a female doctor.

Well TBH it just sounds like jock itch in a sensitive area, which goes away as long as you look after the area, keeping it dry/using talc powder etc. The other thing it could be is candida, so just chuck some bio yogurt on it.

I wouldn't worry about it too much.

But wouldn't it be more appropriate to get a proper diagnosis? The doctor could always say the OP has nothing to worry about.

You should try having an old, slightly mad army doctor clutch your testicles and then tell you to cough...

He didn't wear a glove either, and I saw him eating his lunch later.

i had an itchy scaly rash 'down there'. It got so bad that i had no choice but to go to the doctors. They start with the awkward questions then move to the examination. I'm a very shy person and get embarrassed easily, it was hell. Sorry, but it's true.... Go get done as quickly as possible, the docs have seen it all before, you can request a doctor if it makes you more comfortable (I did). My tip: just pretend you are somewhere else, and don't think about it. They'll tell you what it is, give you a script, you can leave and it'll go away...

try not to see this examination as anything to be embarrassed about, it is just a different part of your body, your doctor deffinately won't be thinking about it in in a sexual way. You can ask for a same sex doctor and if you don't mind a doctor of the opposite sex they will probably offer a chaperon for you. it is deffinately worth getting this rash checked out

:lolz:

The smiley puts it better than I ever could.

OP: Hon, just bite the bullet and go see a Doctor. They've seen it all before! Good luck x
I went to a GUM clinic a couple of months ago because I found a couple of lumps I was worried about. I put off going to the clinic 3 times over the period of a month before I got annoyed of worrying about it as it was affecting my school work. I was worried about showing a male doctor my penis and worried that if it was a female doctor that I might get aroused.

When I did finally go I was seen by a male doctor where I just had to undo my trousers and show my thingy. Afterwards it seemed like a stupid thing to worry about as it was over and done with in a couple of minutes.

I would go and see a doctor though even if it does turn out to be a nappy rash type rash.

Can we do this even when we aren't itchy? Sounds lovely...
It's not that bad honestly. Definitely ask to see a same sex doctor.
