I was just doing some practice questions I don't have a markscheme and don't know why do ores have to be separated? also how is cast iron formed?

Metals are extracted from metal ores as metals can be very useful because of their properties. Have a look at BBC Bitesize for more information, I would link to it but I don't know what exam board you do.
