Am studying the aqa course, got a b at AS but desperately need an A so am retaking unit 2.
However I received a mock paper back last week (which I revised for 4 week prior) and got a low C. Feeling incredibly disheartened and low ... how on earth do I bring my marks up to an A? Any tips from A/A* students?
    Thanks

I don't do aqa (edexcel), what sort of topics do you struggle with? If you don't already know about them chemguide and chemrevise are probably the best resources (especially chem guide)

I did AQA and swapped to Edexcel due to exceptional circumstances. AQA is easier once you've done several past papers as there is a lot of similarities between the mark schemes. Also use the textbook and chem revise and just make bare notes.

Soz for being nosy but do you mind if I ask what the exceptional circumstances were? AQA is a horrid exam board is edexcel any better?

I do OCR Salters and lemme tell you that they don't say that chemistry is the hardest A Level for a reason. Do past papers and do them again and whenever you get a question wrong revise the topic and attempt it again. Look at the mark schemes and learn a "model" answer. I feel like chemistry is more about understanding than memorisation and if you're struggling with a specific topic then Youtube is the best

    This and This.

I do OCR A, but I'd imagine that there's usually a specific way you have to give an answer with any exam board. If I don't understand a topic, I use Khan Academy. If I don't understand the mark scheme like "Why did they divide by 4???", I go on this teacher's Youtube channel where he works out all the questions in all the past papers. If you could find a Youtube channel like this for AQA, then that would be nice (I recommend CGP textbooks as well, they lay out everything so nicely, and the font as well )

Had eye operations and didn't do so well in the exam. So this year at a new college doing Edexcel and not gonna lie be glad your doing AQA. Some parts of Edexcel are easier but most of it is more in-depth and harder
