Yes because being vegan means eating no meat, that's the only thing you don't do when you are vegan. That is what defines being vegan, however within veganism you have many aspects, like some vegans eat honey and some don't because it's made from animals.

That's the same with Islam and being Muslim. The definition of being Muslim is believing in the one and only God and his prophets. The only thing that gets you out of Islam is shirk which is not believing in God.

Seriously, that's the most ridiculous argument you've made.

It's the same definition for Christians and Jews. Everyone of them believes in the same God.

The difference between these religions is their holy book and its commandments. Deliberate rejection of such orders de facto makes you no longer a follower of the religion; that is why sinners go to hell with disbelievers - who have de jure left religion. God doesn't make distinctions between them.

'The one and only God and his prophets' - which includes prophet Muhammed and I'm pretty sure Christians and Jews don't believe in him.

So... not believing in God AND prophet Muahmmed included = Shirk = not being Muslim.

Muslims just like non Muslims make mistakes, errors of judgement and commit sins. We are not perfect...

Having a boyfriend, Muslim or otherwise, does not take you out the fold of Islam. It is however a major sin and you would be hard pressed to find a practising Muslimah who would have a boyfriend, IE a continuous day to day relationship.

this is an older thread but why would a muslim girl even go out with a non muslim? dating is haram anyway. what would be the point in dating someone who doesnt believe in the same god as you? very strange

Exactly. A practising Muslim would never have a boyfriend but mistakes in the moment could be made. That is why we do not allow ourselves to be in private with boys.

You clearly didn't get the fact my comment was a parody of Muslims who say that a hijabi is like a wrapped sweet.

Any respectable Muslim would never refer to a Muslimah as a wrapped up sweet... Seems like it's the non Muslims using that phrase to describe Muslimahs wearing the hijab.

Wrong. Why would non-Muslims refer to wrapped women as sweets when we don't hold the hijab in high esteem or believe that a woman's modesty comes from covering her hair?

It's an analogy used all over the internet and even in billboards in Islamic countries:

Well I'm not exactly a guy, but nor am I exactly a girl, aaaand I like girls, so I'll answer this since nobody else has. EDIT: Okay, people replied while I was writing, but whatevs. :P

It really depends on many things. The no-sex thing would be a total non-issue, I wouldn't really care about that. I'm happy to go at the other person's pace, however slow it may be. I'd just be happy to be with them, and actually my favourite moments in relationships can be those quiet snuggles.

I get the feeling there may be other issues dating a Muslim though. They would want a monogamous relationship, right? Well, I'm (consensually) dating two girls right now, and I don't suppose a Muslim girl would want to date me because of that. Plus, depending on how traditional the Muslim's beliefs are, there may be other clashes in our views that could make the relationship unworkable. I have nothing against Muslims at all, I respect their beliefs and the ways they want to carry out their relationships. But unless they're a very liberal Muslim, a relationship is just isn't likely to work.
so what is your gender exactly then?

It depends really. If they had a nice personality and we could still be affectionate then i'd probably have no problems waiting. Sex isn't everything for some guys.
