Personally, I think it's a lovely tradition, though that feeling isn't as strong this year

I agree. If you're in a relationship, everyday should be valentines day. It's all about commercialism now anyway.

So is Halloween, Easter, Christmas.
These things are what you make of them.
If there is an excuse to drink wine then why not take it?

Um no!!I don't really get valentines day. It's abit stupid tbh. My friends and I always get eeach other roses, but tbh, as much as I love romance, I can't stand the flowers(unless they're tulips), the chocolates(don't like chocolate) or the red hearts.

I think it's adorable! What's wrong with a day of showing someone you love them

Surely if you only ever do it on the day you are culturally obliged to it shows nothing other than you don't really give a **** about the person in question.

You should still show them every other day of the year but it's a special day to pay special attention to your relationship, I think it's really sweet

It's just yet another social custom we are all supposed to get behind for no real benefit or gain other than stuffing the wallets of the already wealthy and propping up the gift card industry.

Why is it special if you're going to do the same thing every other day?

This is clearly impractical. So are most things. Who cares. Why let commercialism affect a private day for you and your partner? It's an excuse.
