Am I the only one who thinks Valentine's day is stupid?

Personally, I think it's a lovely tradition, though that feeling isn't as strong this year :redface:

I agree. If you're in a relationship, everyday should be valentines day. It's all about commercialism now anyway.

Um no!!I don't really get valentines day. It's abit stupid tbh. My friends and I always get eeach other roses, but tbh, as much as I love romance, I can't stand the flowers(unless they're tulips), the chocolates(don't like chocolate) or the red hearts.

Whats wrong with all the other 364 days of the year.

Surely if you only ever do it on the day you are culturally obliged to it shows nothing other than you don't really give a **** about the person in question.

You should still show them every other day of the year but it's a special day to pay special attention to your relationship, I think it's really sweet :h:

Why is it special if you're going to do the same thing every other day?


It's just yet another social custom we are all supposed to get behind for no real benefit or gain other than stuffing the wallets of the already wealthy and propping up the gift card industry.

I said you pay specific attention on that day, with gestures you might not have the means to do every other day, nothing wrong with that :smile:

This is clearly impractical. So are most things. Who cares. Why let commercialism affect a private day for you and your partner? It's an excuse.

No, I'm not, which is probably why I'm saying it. Although the whole concept of "showing appreciation and love" on a particular day once a year is incomprehendable. If you're in a relationship, shouldn't you be doing that anyway everyday?
