It's not about numbers, dufus. It's about WHY they were killed. A lot of unnecessary force is being used on them as opposed to their white counterparts. Good to know you're justifying being killed over a traffic stop.
If you're talking about Sandra Bland then I think it would be a good idea not confuse suicide with police murder

Ive never really understood of being upset at things that happened to your ancestors 200 years ago. I'd have a lot of Irish family that far back and Ireland was treated terribly by Britain so should I feel resentment?
I don't think people understand how this is VERY different. When you're walking on the street, nobody knows yoir ancestors were Irish. Hence, won't allow anybody to discriminate against you on sight

The reason why black folk are very upset is because they're having to deal with discrimination that started from slavery today. TODAY. Racial profiling began during the times of slavery (it was unacceptable for a slave, who was easily noticed because of their melanin, to not be having something to do/working).

And people seem to forget that heavy oppression against blacks did not end after slavery was abolished. There were Heavy Jim Crowe laws. And lyching of black people everywhere. I mean, black people were not allowed to vote until the 1960's. Even after the Holocaust, black folk were still being oppressed. Heavily. Everything was segregated. How dare you tell black people to get over that? The fact that you're asking why black people are upset in and of itself is upsetting.

And it's not like black folk were given land like the Jews were. Do you tell the Jews to get over the Holocaust? I thought so...
You need to read more and educate yourself because they're definitely not doing that in your schools.

    PS - excuse any typos

ETA: South Africans did not even get their independence until 1992. 1992! How tf do you tell people to get over that? Have you seen the prison cell that Nelson Mandella was kept in for 27 years for trying to free his people? And do you know that the top 1% richest people in South Africa are descendants of their colonisers?

My apologies. I digress. Back to Black American history.

I notice you cut the part where I mentioned having ancestors who would likely have been slaves in the Caribbean...

You're comparing the systematic extermination of 6 million people to slavery in the USA? Why do so many black people delude themselves into thinking they're the only ethnic group that has ever been wronged or that any harm suffered by any other group just isn't as bad.

Racial profiling happens to everyone, for some it isn't negative but I don't believe the profiling of black people is always negative. I think it's far more down to the way people dress and the way they're behaving.

I'm not telling anyone to get over it but the fact is most African Americans are so far removed from those things. Like I said I have family who would likely have been slaves but I'm not a slave and I didn't know them so how can I be upset?

Don't even bring up Nelson Mandela, he's essentially Osama Bin Laden but with a largely agreeable cause

-the black panthers were problematic but did not have the institutional power to exert racism. not even remotely comparable to KKK
-racism cannot be done by dis-empowered black people to white people
-in fact, due to the way society is structured, it is nearly impossible for blacks to be racist to whites
-if all lives matter then black lives must matter as well
-America is still terribly racist, Britain less so but still needs works

I understand your point but I don't think it happens to everyone. I think African Americans still bring up slavery now is because they're still suffering as a result of slavery even till this day e.g police brutality, the mentality of being light skinned is better etc. It's passed down generations.

Lol. And MLK got murdered for it. Nelson doied at age 95. Sometimes, the Kumbaya method does not get you there. The real terrorists are those that had to rape, commit genocide and torture people to take what wasn't theirs. The real terrorists are the thieves people call colonizers and founders of America. Forcing their way through the land of others and thinking they're better than everyone else when they're just savages who can't work for themselves to get what they want.

Except it didn't just stop there 200 years ago,do you have any idea what they suffered as recently as the 1950s and 1960s? Kids were denied access to schools because they were black so don't underestimate the psychological impact that could get passed down through the generations we are talking about flawed human beings here (aren't we all) some of them have them have raised there kids too good intentions to aspire to do well regardless of the odds staked against them while some couldn't take it and crumbled due to the continuous inhumane treatment . Am i saying that this gives them an excuse to go out and commit crime? No I'm not but you have to understand that being in poverty and being looked at as subhuman would take its toll on even the best of people.

Just for some perspective the girl in this image was the first black child to enter an all white school, she had to be escorted by security guards due to death threats, teachers resigned and basically all of the parents of the kids at the school pulled them out.
How many of us would of given up and just accepted they will never have a decent live after their innocent child cant walk to school without security guards and receiving death threats?
Now before you tell me again to get over it and how easy it would have been for blacks to educate themselves and get good jobs in a brutally racist country.
Please have a good look at history first because im finished with this back and forth, you are deliberately being one sided and obtuse. Not all blacks are lazy excuse makers, some are very capable of taking responsibility of there actions thank you very much.

I'm not denying colonisation had a big part to play in making that country the bread basket of Africa.

I suspect though you would deny it's the anti-colonisation that has turned it into a basket case.

Idk who/what they are. Neither do I gaf. The point of the matter is that, basic human rights should not be a privilege and sometimes you have to do what you have to do to get it.
