Hi, I'll be starting college in September of this year and maths will be one of my A level options. I'm aware of the recent a level reforms and Edexcel have said that they will start to change maths in September 2017. Now maths is not currently linear so if do my AS as normal (modular) from this year and then start A2 from the year Execel change maths, will my AS become its own qualification or will it count towards my A2? Please help, thanks! ☺️

You'll be fine if you're starting September this year - the new system starts in 2017, but they'll have to have legacy exams in 2018 for those on the modular system.

The linear specification for maths will be introduced in England for first teaching in September 2017 with first full A level exams in summer 2019.
The current modular specification will be examined at AS & A2 in 2017 and 2018 with a final resit opportunity planned for 2019.
Your maths A level will be unaffected by the changes.

Not quite; new system from 2017, it got deferred for a year. The new specs are only just being released in September - teachers will need time to adjust classes.
Oh, I see. You're right, it seems. Maths and Further Maths is in phase 3 of the changes! Thanks for the correction. I'll delete my post with the wrong info.

Don't worry about it. I've deleted my response to you too, so hopefully no one will get confused now
