Just wondering which one of these is the best option, and although it's kind of a generic question I can't seem to find a clear answer anywhere else on the site.

Yesterday after our mock exam 3 people of the 10 in my class went and told our teacher that we had all spoken and come to a unanimous decision to do D1 next year ( so I heard from a friend), despite the fact the rest of us actually want to do S1 or M2 (since those of us who put more effort in don't find mechanics that bad). We're going to talk to the maths department about it tomorrow, but just in preparation for that, would it be a good idea to go ahead and do Decision in year 2?

Is there not certain disadvantages to taking decision when it comes to applying for uni since it is seen as one of the more useless modules?

It depends on the course you are applying for

I have done (or doing) all three of those modules. If you want a good grade with minimal effort, I would go with S1. If you want to go on to university to study CompSci (or similar) I would recommend D1. But if you want to be challenged and learn something fun and applicable I would go for M2 (personally my favourite)

I'd suggest S1 or D1. M2 takes up a lot of revision time and has high boundaries since so many FM students take it. You want to be utilising that time towards C3/4 because it's what the A* depends on

    S1 for ease
    M2 for improving mathematically
    D1 for mental breakdown

D1 is more memorising than anything and M2 will demand quite a bit of work and boundaries are high. I would go for S1
