I have a problem at uni. I always get 60-65% in my assignments, while others can get up to 85%.

I can't really say what is wrong with my assignment and what is better in others. My (engineering) assignments are very deeply analytical with lot's of attention to details and I think others' assignments are more superficial. Yet they get better mark.

What do these idiot lecturers want in assignments really? I thought that analytical skills were rewarded, like to be able to spot a crucial detail that others missed, or to be able to find more factors that influence something than others do, etc.

I see a specific ridiculous student that always gets the top grade and I really cannot understand why. I don't say he is dumb, but his approaches are childish and he noway dives deep in the problem as I do.

What am I doing wrong and how can I score top in my assignments?
