Enough is enough, i need to meet some girls..

Hey everyone,

I am creating this thread because i am 16 years old and have never had a girlfriend. THis however, is not the part that bothers me, its the fact that i know no girls my age whatsoever. I have put up with it for about 4 or 5 years, but now its starting to bother me. I think this is partly due to the fact that i go to a boys only school (and have been since the age of about 7 lol), but also because alot of my friends are kinda in the same boat.

I never took the opportunity to go to house parties (regret it now), and now all guys my age go clubbing instead, which i am not really into. When i say i want to meet girls, i dont mean just for a relationship, but even for friendship. As you can understand, a bit of variety is necessary when i have been surrounded by guys for about 10 years! :s-smilie:

Me and my mates tend to just go to the cinema/shisha bar/ play pool to socialise, which dont seem to be great places to meet girls.

Does anyone have any good ideas as to how i can meet some girls my age?

Thanks a lot!

Perhaps if you enjoy sport, a team? Athletics is a brilliant way...
Why not do something completely random and join a dance class, not ballet and classical sorts but perhaps a ballroom or even salsa! It could be fun and girls love guys who dance, or just give it a go!
Clubs are the way forward:biggrin:

lol, thanks for the advice so far. the dance class doesnt seem to be a bad idea. The only sport i really participate in is wrestling (outside of school), where as you can imagine, its a bit of a sausagefest haha!

As you're a Brit, queue. National sport. Ask the girl next to you for her number (talk to her for a bit).
Or get a job. My collegue had a FIT lad come up to her and give her his number. Could happen to you!

Try talking to them. Cinema might not be great, though you queue quite often, an easy way to talk. Yoda has picked up his fair share of girls at nandos, wagamamas, restaurants with a shared table. Pool, that is pretty self explanatory. Pool is basically made for that. Most places you can talk to a few girls, and you don't have to take it further than just chatting.

You don't need to be introduced to a girl to talk, often they are looking to talk to a guy as much as you are looking to talk to a girl.

And so you know, yoda also goes to an all male school.

Go to the gym? Tons of girls there, with the added avantage of them being fit.

Repage :-p

I think you will have to take a dive and go clubbing a few times and meet some of their female friends.

After 14 years of girls-only education, I can totally see where you're coming from on this! Single-sex education has its positive points, but never ever having a conversation with members of the other sex your own age is not one of them. If you aren't into clubbing etc, it can be a bit hard.

Clubs are the way forward:biggrin:

But I definitely agree with TheBellJar here... clubs as in activity clubs, that is! Be proactive! MUN? Debating? Lectures? Music? Any kind of inter-school competition or club? I met my bf at a debating competition... this approach has all the advantages, of course, of being fun and 'useful' in its own right so even if you don't get the outcome you were hoping for it's hardly time wasted. Good luck with it, I'm sure there are a lot of ppl in the same position! I'll also add, since it looks like you are in yr 11 at the moment, that I found it suddenly got easier in the sixth form, as there are a lot more opportunities for doing this kind of thing outside school and you'll suddenly find yourself socialising with more girls. So hang on in there!

You're sixteen. I mean really. The sort of relationships sixteen year olds have really aren't worth your trouble.

Give it a couple of years, then you can moan.
Clubs clubs clubs!

I've just broken up with a speshul girlfriend after 2 and a half years, and I'm not quite ready to move on yet. However...

I'm going back to university in July for a job and as soon as Freshers week comes around I'll be joining a lot of clubs, primarily just for the company, but secondarily just to put myself out there again. You can't help but meet girls if you take part in activities, and while you shouldn't force yourself into anything, if the right girl comes along you'll know what to do!
