Hi, I am an international student and received MSc marketing offer from Cranfield and York. I am confused:

My result is not good (2:2 honour) so I cannot get into the top business school (rejected by MBS and Glasgow already). I hear that the business school of York is not really good, but overall it has a higher reputation and it is one of the top unis in UK. Consider that I might go back to my country to work, York seems better.

For Cranfield, I found that people recommend Cranfield as its close connection and high reputation in industry. And I prefer learning practical skills which cranfield seems a better choice for me. But there is just too little information about the school and to be honest I have doubt about the school whether it is that good. Also, so far no one of my friends or colleagues know cranfield.

Which one should I choose? Please help. Thank you!

Congratulations on your offers to Cranfield and York, both are fantastic universities!

Cranfield is a postgraduate only university, specialising in engineering and science. The business school at Cranfield is highly recommended.

York is a publicly ranked university, mostly in the top 15 to 10 universities in the country, I would say considered better here than Glasgow or Manchester.

You czn't go wrong with either of them. Myself personally I would go for Cranfield as it has that edge in being very focused and good at what it does and looks great on your CV.

I have one question for you: How did you get into Cranfield with a 2:2 ?? Give me your trick please

I'm holding a 2:2 degree in management from McGill University (1st in Canada) and I don't know how high I can aim in terms of school.

I have offers from Aston, Coventry, Nottingham Trent and Oxford Brookes.
The MA Brand Management at Coventry is 100% what I wanna do, but not sure about the uni as a whole...

Hi Bastien I think you shouldn't worry too much about your mark but just think and prepare the best statement you can, I believe this school give a chance to pretty much everyone if your are willing to show your motivation and what make you different from another, also can support your 2.2 and sell yourself. You will definitely get in !

    Hi,

Just wondering if you had any question about Aston or Birmingham as a city? Not going to throw rankings and percentages at you unless you ask me to.

You don't have to justify it to us, we know Cranfield are an excellent institution, that's why we partnered with them last year.

    Best of luck.

Hi Josh, sorry the message was for Bastien actually... I quote yours by mistake.
I wasn't trying to justify myself just wanted to highlight how I make my choice ! I never said Aston was a bad school, it just depends the background of everyone, what you are looking for after your degree, the opportunities you want to create for yourself...

Hey Josh, thank you for your message. Actually yes, can you tell me what it is like to live in Birmingham? And also do you know about the industry partnerships Aston has? I am really interested in working in the automobile industry in the UK (for a British manufacturer or foreigner)

Also, what is the class size in a Msc at Aston?

I personally absolutely adore Birmingham, it's a friendly, welcoming, diversity city with a lot to offer. It's also on the up with companies such as Microsoft and The BBC setting up shop. It was voted one of the 10 cities to visit in last years Rough Guides and we have just opened up the brand new Grand Central as an ad on to New Street Station. Why not take a look around though? I made this video.

Aston and Birmingham as a city both have extensive links with JLR and Rolls Royce, with them taking on a number of our students for decades. Obviously being interested in the automobile industry you'll probably know JLR has been a feature in Birmingham since it was building spitfires in World War 2.

Class sizes differ year to year, but as with most MSc's the classes are smaller, more focused and more personable allowing you more contact time with your lecturer.

Anything else just give me a shout.

Hi monostella! I am from Costa Rica and I am an offer holder from Cranfield. What are the main reasons you have chosen Cranfield besides other Programmes? What about Cranfield Life, it is nice the on-campus social life? maybe you can give your personal email and I could ask you later some other specific questions? Besides Cranfield, I also have offers from Warwick and Manchester and was wondering which is the best option for an MSc in Marketing? *A key factor to take into consideration is that I am 28 years old and have 5 years of work experience, so a programme with high average age is very important for me. Is Cranfield the best option considering this? In this moment I am more attracted by Cranfield for this reason, and its good reputation as well. However, I know that Warwick is a very ranked University and Manchester is a very cool city and the MSc program look interesting.

I would appreciate it a lot your help..!!
