Sainsburys - Why do they need a photocopy of a birth cetificate Watch

    When handing in the birth cetificate at the interview they said that was fine but then they ask for a copy of it for when you go to the induction as well as the real one so confused tbh.

    To prove that you were born. That you are living and breathing is not enough for human resources, they need documented evidence.

    More seriously, it is more likely to do with immigration or proof that you're over 18. Although I thought bringing your passport was more common.

    I understand that yet what i dont understand is why they need a copy and a original surely thats pointless?

    That's unusual... normally employers just take a scan of your passport (and sometimes driver's license).

    Have you asked them why?

    It's easy to forge a photocopy. They want to see the original. It's often the same deal with education certifcates.
