Wrist injury...

I've had an aching wrist for about a week now - I'm not sure how it started but it really hurts to move it backwards and forwards, or carrying slightly heavy stuff - it's my right wrist and i'm left handed though I do lots of stuff with my right hand. I also play clarinet and piano - i've heard tendonitis can be caused by this, do you think it could be this? Is it worth asking my GP, or does it sound slightly pathetic to you?!

Edit - i should point out its not swollen or anything either -but it really really hurts!!

No, it does sound worth going to your GP for, if it's bad. (Tendonitis can't be caused by an aching wrist but obviously it's one of the symptoms of tendonitis - could be anything, though.)

Go to the GP and explain you're a muscian and ask his/her advice. I've had on going problems with my shouder for over a year now, mainly because of playing the flute but I wanted to carry on playing (although I've had to give up the flute and only play d. bass now) so they helped me out.

Either that or take some anti-inflamtorys and painkillers (Nurofen or Cuprofen) for a week and see if it gets better. My shoulder didn't which is why I had on going treatement.

Good luck, I hop it gets better soon.

trying resting it and seeing if it gets better?
Maybe you have a sprain
or RSI? ppl even get that from texting  so musical instruments mayb cause it too?
Why not wait and see if it gets better with resting, if not go 2 the doctor.
Hope it feels better soon

Does your wrist just hurt in general or does it only hurt when you bend it?

...and the doctor said I wouldn't have so many nosebleeds if I kept my finger out of there...

go to the docs and they can do all sorts of (rather easy but i still cant remember them) tests to see if you've got carpel tunnel syndrome or a fractured scaphoid or tendonitis etc.....

It mildly throbs when resting and its like a sharp pain when moving it. i've sat with an ice pack on it this evening and taken paracetamol...thanks for advice  xxx

Have you tried binding it so you can't move it? Could just need to rest without being moved.
