I'm year 11 and it's about time to choose A levels for next year. Our school is running the scheme of doing 3 full A-levels, with some students having the option to take 4 A levels.
I want to study economics at uni; with LSE, Cambridge etc in mind. I am stuck between choosing 3 or 4 subjects, I am worried about the workload and my results being affected negatively if I take 4, but worried about my subject choices not being broad enough if I take 3.
Here are some potential combinations:
Maths, FM, Economics (+EPQ in Econ)
Maths, FM, History (+ EPQ in Econ)
Maths, FM, Economics, History (+ EPQ)
Maths, FM, Economics, Physics (+ EPQ)
a snippet from LSE's website....
"Thus a combination of Maths, Further Maths and one other subject is not seen as providing the required breadth of knowledge and skills."
For many schools they are now adopting a simple 3 A level system rather than the conventional 4, I wonder if unis will adjust this....
