    Being a nice person (x10)
So called nice people are usually the biggest dicks, especially when they are shy, when they get all confident they sell out

Well I disagree with what everyone else is saying, an occupation is part of the person, if someone is a nurse, and a good one at that they clearly value looking after other people's lives more than say, a businessman who profits from gambling on the market.

    Personally:
    - Navy
    - Police
    - Fire service
    - Nurse
    - Teacher
    - Pilot
    - Army
    - Judge
    - Politician
    - Civil Service
And...for an extra bonus you get a man in uniform. Yummy.

I would never marry an Army man. Although, I have IMMENSE respect for them but I can't deal with my husband going to wars and fighting(that is if he has to). No no no! That won't happen!

Yes, it's an awful metric. You wouldn't judge someone on their background or where they grew up - so why would you judge their personality traits on their occupation? Generalisations are excuses to not fully appreciate the complexity and diversity of human life.
Lambasting someone for their 'awful metric' whilst creating an appalling comparison is so tedious.

Background and where you grow up: have no choice over the matter.
Occupation: you literally choose it (within reason) and it therefore must reflect a person's personality to some degree.

This is a light-hearted thread anyway, it's a ranking. It's not people saying "I'll only date within these professions". Get a grip and unclench your sphincter(s).

I loled at the Sphincter comment, but I'll still agree to disagree.

I would date a dustbin man if he was my type and had a good attitude...

I wouldn't date someone who has a impressive occupation (like a astronaut) if they had a poor attitude and were not my type

    This is soooo shallow.

You're dating the person not their occupation. As long as my partner is ambitious and driven to achieve something (could be anything), I don't care.
